John Basil was born and raised in northeastern New Jersey and educated at Marquette University. A corporate communications writer for over 20 years, "Let Me Wear Your Coat," is his debut novel.

John was in the lobby of the World Trade Center on 9-11-2001, when the first plane struck the North Tower. He's currently at work on a novel whose narrative includes that experience.
